Omg!! The food was excellent. I ordered a three veggie plate - collard greens, Mac and cheese, yams! Everything was absolutely great. Due to popularity, there was a line. But worth the wait. Red Velvet Cake for later. I will return.
We purchased food from Savorite Southern Cuisine on June 12. Food was great, fish, fries, black eyed peas, macaroni & cheese but the service was almost none existent. My 11 yr old daughter noticed they didn't speak when anyone (not just us) walked in, didn't see a single smile on anyone's face and it was almost like it was small chore to take our order. Again, the food was great but they've got a longgggg way to go on customer service.
So would I go back: While the food was great, the 30 minute wait to get food and next to non existent customer service makes that a difficult choice. I can only imagine if we were dining in. Trying to support local businesses can be tough and if we weren't starving to eat I would have pulled the manager to the side and offered some advice. Check it out if you're in the area and want some good soul food.
Pics would have been nice, but the food didn't stay on our table long enough for that.
The catfish sandwich was really good, it was flavorful. The bread was a little thicker than my preference.
I didn't like the Mac n cheese. It was too dry.
I'd order from here again and try something else!
